Marking the conclusion of its fourth year as a major supporter of local children in need, Speedway Children’s Charities’ Dover Motor Speedway chapter announced today that it has awarded $110,000 to 20 Delaware and mid-Atlantic organizations focused on improving the health, safety, welfare and development of children.
The Speedway Children’s Charities, Dover Motor Speedway chapter is dedicated to raising funds for Delaware and mid-Atlantic-based non-profit organizations with a focus on assisting Delaware children in need. Over the first four years, Speedway Children’s Charities, Dover Motor Speedway chapter (SCC-Dover) has distributed nearly $300,000 to area groups.
Today, during a celebratory luncheon, the following organizations were presented with donations on behalf of SCC-Dover:
- A Better Chance for Our Children, Inc. (Wilmington/Milford): Helps young trauma survivors develop emotional regulation.
- Autism Delaware (Newark): Provides expanded social recreation activities to Delaware children.
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware (Dover): Provides youth with safe after-school programs, mentorship, and academic support.
- Caring Hearts, Helping Hands (Camden-Wyoming): Holiday gifts for children of financially challenged working families.
- Children’s Beach House (Lewes): Supports children with special needs through therapeutic, developmental, and summer programs.
- Embrace Delaware (Dover): Create community, inclusion, relationships and support for families with children with disabilities.
- Exceptional Care for Children (Newark): Provides mobility equipment to medically fragile children.
- Free Bikes 4 Kidz Delaware (Selbyville): Free bicycles for children in need in Kent and Sussex counties.
- Friends of Sussx CASA (Milton): Advocates for abused and neglected children through court-appointed volunteer support.
- Friendship House (Wilmington): Provides shelter, food, and transitional services for individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Green Beret Project (Dover): Empowers youth through sports, education, and mentorship.
- Hilltop Lutheran Neighborhood Center (Wilmington): Offers youth development, early learning, and family support programs in underserved communities.
- Jason Anderson Foundation for Youth Sports (Nassau): Assists with participation in youth sports.
- Jewish Family Services of Delaware (Wilmington): Addresses youth mental health with counseling, case management and referral services.
- Make-A-Wish Foundation of Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley: Grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
- Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington (Wilmington): Provides tuition-free, rigorous education and lifelong support for boys from underserved communities.
- PAWS for People (Newark): Provides pet therapy to improve mental wellness and learning for children.
- Reading Assist (Wilmington): Organizes tutoring opportunities to children in need.
- Shoes That Fit (Newark): New sneakers for underserved children.
- YMCA of Delaware (Dover): Offers youth-centered programs that build character and support healthy development.
Evergreen Farms in Dover hosted today’s event, with HealthyPath serving as the luncheon sponsor.

"We're already looking ahead to 2026 and exploring ways to expand our fundraising efforts, including new opportunities during our upcoming All-Star NASCAR tripleheader weekend, May 15-17."

As part of today’s program, Gary Camp presented two awards celebrating individuals whose commitment to SCC-Dover continues to strengthen and advance the chapter’s mission.
Caring Hearts Award – Tanner Hollis
The Caring Hearts Award honors a full-time Dover Motor Speedway employee who consistently goes above and beyond for SCC through volunteering, creating connections, and championing the cause year-round. This year’s recipient, Tanner Hollis, exemplifies that spirit through his steady support and enthusiasm for SCC’s events and outreach.
Trustee of the Year – Kathy Willes
The Trustee of the Year Award recognizes a board member whose leadership and commitment have made an exceptional impact. Kathy Willes, a devoted supporter of both motorsports and SCC, played a key role in the success of this year’s Monster Mile Mini-Masters and has been a driving force for the chapter since its inception. Her energy, generosity and passion continue to strengthen SCC-Dover’s work in the community.
