The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series returns to The Monster Mile for the first time since 2020 on Friday, May 15 with one of the most eclectic and headline-filled fields of the season for the ECOSAVE 200 at Dover Motor Speedway.
From NASCAR Cup Series stars to rising prospects, celebrity crossovers and historic debuts, the 200-lap battle on Dover’s high banks features compelling storylines throughout the garage area.
Among the biggest is the return of Clint Bowyer, who will pilot the No. 25 truck for Kaulig Racing and RAM in a special one-off appearance. The former NASCAR Cup Series race winner and current FOX Sports analyst remains one of the sport’s most recognizable personalities, and his return to national series competition adds another marquee name to Friday’s field.
Kyle Busch returns in the No. 7 Chevrolet carrying one of the most accomplished résumés in Truck Series history. Busch owns more than 60 career Truck Series victories and is a perennial favorite whenever he enters the series, most recently winning earlier this season at EchoPark Speedway.
Ross Chastain will drive the No. 45 truck as the Cup Series star looks to add another strong performance at Dover while attempting a sweep across all three national series this weekend. Chastain’s aggressive driving style has made him one of NASCAR’s most entertaining competitors and a must-watch whenever he takes the track.
Christopher Bell joins the field in the No. 62 truck. Bell’s versatility across pavement and dirt racing has helped establish him as one of NASCAR’s elite talents, and his return to Truck Series competition brings another proven winner into the lineup. Bell won his most recent Truck Series start at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Carson Hocevar rounds out the Cup contingent in the No. 77 truck. One of NASCAR’s fastest-rising stars, Hocevar earned his first career NASCAR Cup Series victory earlier this season at Talladega Superspeedway and also captured a Truck Series victory at Texas Motor Speedway. His exciting style and willingness to push the limit make him one of the most electric drivers in Friday’s field.
The field also includes several notable full-time competitors from the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series who are no strangers to victory lane.
Brandon Jones enters the weekend in the No. 1 truck for TRICON Garage, while William Sawalich continues to emerge as one of NASCAR’s top young prospects after earning his first NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series victory at Rockingham earlier this season in the No. 5 entry.
Friday’s race also features several unique names and crossover stories.
Toni Breidinger returns in the No. 27 truck as one of the most recognizable figures in the series, continuing to grow both her on-track résumé and national profile.
Actor Frankie Muniz, best known for starring in “Malcolm in the Middle,” continues his transition from Hollywood to motorsports competition is in the No. 33 truck.
History will also be made this weekend as Dystany Spurlock competes in the No. 69 truck. Spurlock is set to become the first African American woman to start a race in one of NASCAR’s three national touring series, marking a milestone moment at Dover Motor Speedway.
Alongside Breidinger and Spurlock, Natalie Decker’s entry means three women are scheduled to compete in Friday’s race.
Additional storylines include Mini Tyrell in the No. 14 truck. Tyrell earned his opportunity through the “RAM Road to the Race Seat” reality competition during the offseason, a nationally televised program that challenged aspiring drivers for a chance to compete full-time in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. Tyrell emerged as the winner of the competition, turning the reality-show victory into a full-season ride with Kaulig Racing and RAM, making it one of the more unique paths to NASCAR national series competition in recent memory.
Brenden “Butterbean” Queen also returns to Dover in the No. 12 truck after winning last season’s ARCA Menards Series race at The Monster Mile. Queen has quickly become a fan favorite as he begins his full-time Truck Series campaign with Kaulig Racing.
