Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC), established in 1982 by Speedway Motorsports, has been dedicated to improving the lives of children in need across the United States.
DOVER, Del. (Feb 24, 2026) The Dover Motor Speedway chapter (SCC-Dover) is one of 11 chapters nationwide, focusing on supporting Delaware and mid-Atlantic-based nonprofit organizations that assist children. Since its inception 43 years ago at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Speedway Children’s Charities has expanded to serve communities in Atlanta, Bristol, Charlotte, Dover, Las Vegas, Austin, Nashville, New Hampshire, North Wilkesboro, Sonoma and Texas.
In 2025 alone, SCC’s 11 chapters combined to distribute $4.9 million to 489 deserving organizations, serving more than 268,000 children across the country. Throughout its collective history, SCC has distributed more than $77 million to charitable organizations, ensuring children are given the tools to build better, brighter and healthier futures.
In 2023, its first full year of operation, SCC-Dover raised $80,000 and supported 16 children’s charities. In 2024, $90,000 was distributed to 20 organizations. In 2025, the chapter raised $110,000 for 20 Delaware and mid-Atlantic-based nonprofits. In total, SCC-Dover has contributed $295,000 to children in need throughout the region in just over three years.
At Dover Motor Speedway, SCC-Dover hosts several annual fundraising events for the community and support local children’s charities. These events include Laps For Charity, Monster Mile After Dark Tours, Monster Mile Mini-Masters, the Track Treasures trailer and memorabilia auctions.
Laps For Charity
Laps For Charity events offer fans the unique opportunity to drive their personal vehicles on the iconic Monster Mile. In 2026, three sessions are scheduled at Dover Motor Speedway:

Friday, August 1
Sunday, September 27
Participants can take five laps for $75 or opt for an eight-lap VIP session for $125 during select dates. Additional experiences may include riding as a passenger in the official pace car and capturing a photo in front of the Monster Monument for an additional fee.

Monster Mile After Dark Tours
The Monster Mile After Dark Tours return May 15-16, 2026, offering fans an exclusive, behind-the-scenes experience of Dover Motor Speedway under the evening sky.
These guided tours provide a unique perspective of the track, allowing participants to explore areas typically restricted to the public.
Tour stops may include:
- Inside and on the Monster Monument
- A walk along the banking of the Monster Mile
- Victory Lane
- Infield Media Center
- Spotters stand over the frontstretch
Space is limited for each tour session, and advance registration is recommended.
Monster Mile Mini-Masters
Monster Mile Mini-Masters returns Friday, Oct. 16 at Tre Sorelle Dolce in Wyoming, Del., for its second annual miniature golf tournament benefiting SCC-Dover.
Teams of four will compete in a lighthearted afternoon of mini golf with NASCAR themed fun, featuring music entertainment, appearances by the Dover Motor Speedway pace car, Miles the Monster trophy, food and drink, exciting prizes and of course, ice cream. Top individual and team honors will be awarded, with the tournament’s best performer earning a miniature version of the Miles the Monster trophy, one of NASCAR’s top prizes.
Track Treasures Trailer
The Track Treasures trailer remains a treasure trove for NASCAR enthusiasts, offering a variety of memorabilia, collectibles and one-of-a-kind autographed items.
Available during select events, including Laps For Charity dates and other major speedway weekends, fans can purchase mementos, clothing and advertising banners near the Monster Monument. All proceeds benefit SCC-Dover and its grant recipients.
Memorabilia Auctions
SCC-Dover organizes both live and online auctions featuring exclusive NASCAR memorabilia and experiences. These auctions provide fans with the chance to bid on unique items, with all proceeds benefiting local children’s charities. Details about upcoming auctions, including dates and featured items, are regularly updated on the SCC-Dover website and DoverMotorSpeedway.com.
Through these engaging events, SCC-Dover not only offers fans memorable experiences but also raises essential funds to support children in need. In December 2025, SCC-Dover donated funds to Delaware and mid-Atlantic-based organizations focusing on the health, safety, welfare and development of children.
