Taylor Gray shattered a Dover Motor Speedway speed record on his way to nabbing the pole for this afternoon’s General Tire 125 ARCA Menards Series East race.

Gray, driving the No. 17 Ford for team owner David Gilliland, turned a lap of 160.915 mph on the 1-mile, high-banked, concrete oval. On a bright, sunny but cool afternoon at the Monster Mile, six drivers topped the old mark of 157.143 mph set by Harrison Burton in 2018.

The General Tire 125 ARCA Menards Series East race takes the green flag at 5:30 p.m. today.
