• ESPN’s Monster Mile visit is the network’s only scheduled motorsports event stop during the 50-day event.

Dover Motor Speedway’s July 18-20 NASCAR tripleheader weekend is ESPN’s choice to represent The First State during its “SportsCenter: 50 States in 50 Days” feature this summer, the network announced today.

“SportsCenter” will be at live from The Monster Mile on Sunday, July 20. ESPN’s Marty Smith, who has covered NASCAR for more than two decades, will begin his coverage from the track during the 10 a.m. edition of “SportsCenter” which will go on to include multiple reports, interviews and features throughout the day.

ESPN’s visit to The World’s Fastest One-Mile Oval precedes that day’s Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 NASCAR Cup Series race and is the network’s only scheduled motorsports event stop during the 50-day feature.

2025 marks 56 consecutive years that Dover Motor Speedway has hosted a NASCAR Cup Series race – annually Delaware’s largest professional sporting event. The Monster Mile is one of only 10 tracks in the country to host 100 or more NASCAR Cup Series races.

“A NASCAR weekend at Dover is truly a one-of-a-kind experience and we’re honored ESPN will share our story with the nation next month,” said Mike Tatoian, Dover Motor Speedway’s president and general manager. “From the top racing on the high-banked concrete oval to all the excitement in our family friendly Fan Zone, a Monster Mile visit is the highlight of any summer vacation for NASCAR Nation!”

Beginning Friday, June 27, the ESPN tour will feature a mix of live on-site shows and segments from a different state each day for 50 consecutive days. This marks the first time in 20 years that “SportsCenter” has embarked on a cross-country tour of this scale. ESPN last presented a “50 States in 50 Days” summer tour in 2005.
