Dover Motor Speedway has hosted exciting racing and entertainment events for national and international guests for more than 50 years.

The green flag dropped on Dover Motor Speedway events on July 6, 1969, when Richard Petty won that day’s Mason-Dixon 300 by six laps. In 2023, the 1-mile oval nicknamed the “Monster Mile®” hosts another NASCAR tripleheader weekend on April 28-30, including the Würth 400 NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, April 30. It will be the 105th NASCAR Cup Series race at the track. Dover is one of only 10 tracks in the country to have hosted 100 or more NASCAR Cup Series events. Other SMI race information here.

Dover is also home to the Firefly Music Festival, which was first held in July 2012 and hosted 48 national music acts over three days. Firefly has grown to an event that sees more than 50,000 each day, with more than 100 acts playing across multiple stages, earning a top-five U.S. music festival designation by Rolling Stone magazine.

Notable acts that have appeared at Firefly include Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Outkast, The Black Keys, The Killers, Jack White, Kings of Leon, Imagine Dragons, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Mumford & Sons and Post Malone.
