NASCAR legend Greg Biffle, 55, died in a plane crash with six others, including his family. The tragedy occurred near Statesville Airport, leaving the NASCAR community in mourning. The Wreaths Across America Escort to Arlington made a stop in Delaware, where Dover Motor Speedway hosted a ceremony amid cold weather conditions at Bally’s Dover Casino Resort. Gold Star Families, veterans, and others gathered to honor America’s fallen heroes as part of the multi-state escort carrying thousands of handmade wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery.

Due to cold weather, the Dec. 11 Wreaths Across America event in Dover moves to Bally's Dover Casino Resort's Rollins Center Ballroom A. The event includes a convoy with veterans and law enforcement, a remembrance ceremony featuring patriotic presentations, and musical tributes, all part of honoring America's fallen service members.

The Dover Motor Speedway chapter of Speedway Children's Charities concluded its fourth year by donating $110,000 to 20 organizations focused on children's health and welfare. Over four years, it has raised nearly $300,000 for Delaware and mid-Atlantic nonprofits. The celebration featured awards for outstanding contributions to their mission.
